On the difficult steep slopes of the Ribeira Sacra, where in ancient times the monks withdrew to get closer to God, the Mencia grapes slowly ripen. Where now mainly winegrowers do the work, this “heavenly wine” must have helped the monks on their search for god. Farmer style, medium bodied red with sweet and sour cherries, black plums and some herbs at the end. A good glass of drinkable red!
