30 months on the lees!
For 20 years Javier and José Gonzalez dreamt of putting Ribeiro (Galicia) wines back on the map. Not table wines, but the very high-end. Created with the native wine varieties of Treixedura, Godello, Albariño and Loureiro.
The often old vines are situated on the best slopes of the region. The Parajes de Penaboa is the highest situated parcel on the hill, at 280 and 300 metres altitude and has a terroir of soft slate, granite and clay. This is what gives the special character to this particular wine. The wine has been sur lie for 30 months and has ripened another year in the bottle. Intense flavours of white fruits, a little spice and great minerality and a very long but refreshing finish.
