After completing high school, Piuze decided to work in vineyards and cellars in Australia, South Africa and Israel. After, he returned to Canada and opened a wine bar, but soon found out he wanted to return to making wine.
In the year 2000 he moved to France and began working for Olivier Leflaive, where in the meanwhile he also followed an education as oenologist. Leflaive was so impressed with his wine making talent, that soon enough Piuze was given the lead at the winery. After this he also worked for Ferget and Jean Marc Brocard. In 2008 he left the wineries and based himself in the Chablis region, where he buys his grapes from the best terroirs of old vines. His wines belong to the top of the Chablis and are extremely sought after. The Grand Cru Bougros grapes are grown on a high hill in the Chablis region and Piuze’s signature is the pure expression of the terroir of flintstone and the layering in the wines. Of very limited production, this wine is one of the seven Grand Cru wines of this parcel. Nuances of pineapple, peach and a light smokiness, with lots of citrus and minerals. This wine can be drunk now or kept for at least another 10 years.
